Its Been A While..

Hello friends,

I will begin by admitting it sure has been a long time since I have been on here for a chat, or a telling of good food. In the time I have been absent, I have travelled, begun a health degree I am incredibly passionate about and had a lot of changes in my diet.

As some of you know, my main reasons for beginning this blog were to document clean eating and its impact of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I have nothing but positive and incredibly wonderful news about how all that has gone. My IBS is completely gone as a result of the elimination diet paired with clean eating.. I couldn’t be happier I as able to achieve it and have been repeating the benefits of being cautious of what I eat since.

I am back on here to revisit the goals of healthy eating that I left behind a little while ago and start over. I have not been eating unhealthy in the past few months… just healthy with a bit too much indulgence every now and then ;).

I post dominantly through Instagram under the username “healthy_positive_me” where I share foods I find, among other things. Have a look!

I had a go at some experimental cooking and came up with a delicious muffin recipe (I’ve made over 3 batches since!!!).

Ingredients:

2 cups self raising flour
1 and 1/2 cup soymilk
1 tbsp oil
1/2 cup sugar

I added some extras: 1 scoop of protein powder and 1/4 dairy free chocolate chips. Yum yum!

Mix all together and cook in a 180 degrees Celsius oven for 15 minutes.

Purity for The Skin

Hello! Recently I have had a try of a few different products for skin care (body not face) and stumbled across these wonders. “Frank” is a naturally made body scrub of coffee grounds, brown sugar, essential oils, orange extract and other beautiful ingredients that you rub all over your body and literally have the worlds softest skin as a result. It’s beautiful. 250 grams of the magic is only $12.00 and available online only. Just google “frank coffee scrub”.

Another item I tested was pure coconut oil. I tend to get really dry skin from being in the chlorinated pools so much so this is a nice treat to my skin. I found it just at my regular supermarket in the Asian foods isle. A big jar like this was $6.00 but I’ve just now seen it online for cheaper through organic sellers. So have a shop around. Rub it all over your body in the shower and go about your usual routine letting the water run over it for a few minutes. Get a pH neutral wash and rinse off to get the residue oil off your body. It will leave your skin beautifully soft. I’m very impressed. I tried it in my hair, but it was just a tad too hard to get out.

Enjoy bloggers!

Happy Anniversary 365 Days of Purity Friends!

For those of you who have “liked” #365 Days of Purity since day one, did you know it has actually been 365 days? Well done to those of you who have continued to improve your health by eating a bit cleaner, whether with your entire diet or with some parts of it – you have changed the outlook for your health in the future and that is an amazing achievement. I’d love to know how it has made some of you feel: Post below and let me know of any changes you have felt, and if your happier with this way of life compared to what you were before! I’ll share my story to get you kick started!

Heres to another 365 days of happiness, health and passion for food and fitness.

A year ago I visited a dietitian because I could not bare another day of living with IBS. I started clean eating under her guidance and haven’t looked back a day since. I was having complications with my stomach every 2-3 days, and that has been minimised to once or twice every 2 months. For anyone else with IBS – you can understand, that this is an amazing improvement. In regards to eating cleaner and healthier, I feel much better, with more energy and deeper sleeping, I crave foods like vegetables instead of sweets and have discovered some beautiful and delicious food along the way. I hope your health and wellbeing has improved also. Let me know!! Happy anniversary guys! xx
